Rocky ford should make their business growth back to the way it was by sending out the 3 step process that Tylenol did in their 1982 scare.

1. Recall on all of their fruit in stores so people could stop getting sick from their melons.
2. make sure all their fruit is grown and not tampered with so  healthier more organic way of growing their fruit.
3. i believe they need to make a apology statement to all hey made sick and to those who may have died from the incident.

the way the company can do  this is promise testing on what they have done with their melons and see what may have went on with the company and testing. the melon company can make it so that the they advertise and rebuild the company in a whole new light.

The story behind Walmart success is knowing whos there target demographic and what customers buy from their store selections. Kroger is the second chain nd it owns different companies such as Smiths, Vons, Food 4 less, Foods Co, Willow, City Market, and Bakers. the company has expanded to social media by building a app where you can locate some of their products and what stores are near you. they have a organic food group, a charity group. In 1883, Barney Kroger invested his life savings of $372 to open a grocery store at 66 Pearl Street in downtown Cincinnati. The son of a merchant, he ran his business with a simple motto: “Be particular. Never sell anything you would not want yourself.” the stores company has expanded now to 300 million different stores across the nation.

week 8 BOC: Subliminal Advertising

The burger king's new and approved chicken sandwich being bigger and it will taste better. However this ad is displaying a girl with a wide open mouth and the ad says it will blow your mind away.this can seem to refer to a sexual thought to one's mind. this ad maybe targeted to men because of the hidden message. The gasoline company Shell Oil, eager to find the reason behind their decade long slump, they tried everything from: psychographic memory triggers, dream therapy, tangible manifestation exercises, they even asked customers to mold a figure out of clay expressing their feelings towards the company. Nothing worked! "All the techniques…— they’re all legitimate tools for arriving at consumer insight,’ he says. ‘But they only operate on the surface level.’ To craft a more potent appeal for its brand of gasoline, Oeschle concluded, Shell would have to go deeper — much deeper.” So they decided to call in Hal Goldberg, a consumer researcher who specializes in focus groups conducted under hypnosis. Hal took customers all the way back to when they were infants and then he said “Tell me about your first experience in a gas station.” All of the customers’ responses were similar, tying them to their family. “It dawned on us, as a result of this process, that we’d better figure out how to favorably impact people from an early age,” he says. Many companies use this form and many other forms of subliminal advertising, in order to persuade their customers to keep being their products. What is subliminal advertising you may ask? Well subliminal advertising is a Promotional messages the recipient is not aware of, such as those played at very low volume or flashed on a screen for less than a second. Its effectiveness is not supported by scientific evidence, and its use is considered a deceptive business practice in some jurisdictions.” I am not too sure what to think about this method that businesses use to capture the attention from customers. It is both good and bad in certain ways. It is good because businesses are able to find out what it is that its customers want, need, and expect from them, but on the other hand it is bad because it “forces” you to purchase from a brand without you even knowing why you felt you needed to.
