EOC: John Varvatos

Strengths of John Varvatos would begin with his men’s line, which targets a certain demographic of the male. The target market would be the mid 20’s to early 30’s kind of guy that want to dress more sophisticated and young. He does this by targeting them through digital start-ups and establishing brick and mortar operations in high priced places where people of that age range can afford his clothing. He has a influence in the male fashion community as well as fashion community. He has collaborated with different companies such as converse and express.
John Varvatos seems to have only a few weaknesses, he doesn’t have too much of a collection on set trends where sometimes the market can be. Another weakness that he may have is that his brand is to common to where anyone can produce a plain cotton tee from Walmart or Target. He may struggle  in with making sure his brand of common staples will be able to compete with other brands with their jeans and denim as well.
He can do the young male market for his jean collection or he can expand to more of a sophisticated woman's jean line. the line could consist of his common staples of denim jeans and plain tees. However this would be aimed and targeted to  woman who dress more simpler and want high brand name besides the GAP.
his threats would be other premium denim companies moving in on the target he is missing from his lines. Diesel, Express, and Levis all target their common simple brand to more of a demographic who is willing to buy it from them. John Varvatos should want to have consideration into moving in towards these target demographics.
This is my SWOT analysis on the great John Varvatos.

EOC WEEK 1: How to Make It in America

Last Class we watched the HBO series, Made in America. This show contained two friends who were tying to make their business dreams come true. In the series we saw them struggle to come up with money to pay back a loan shark and then we found out that they wanted to invest in denim line. We have to discuss the wrong and the right ways they went about doing their business,

The things that they done right in the series made in America was finding their new product to invest in.
They found money to help  out their business and to get it started. They have a general idea of what their business is based upon. They have hope and confidence in their line.

The things they done wrong in that episode was splurge of the moment denim idea.
They borrowed money from a untrusted loan shark. They didn't have much of a plan to where they wanted their brand to go, demographic , financial, and marketing. Lastly they didn't have a name for their line as well.
These are a few of the things that could make the company succeeded and fail.

MY VOICE

My Name is Autumn Mae. I am A girl with big dreams and even bigger at becoming a go-getter. I have worked on 5 fashion shows and 4 photo-shoots. I have worked hard with my organization in involving Vegas in the fashion world. I believe in Fashion as an escape from everyone and everything. It is a way of expressing yourself through art but art in clothing. I created the idea fro pretty rich dolls because I wanted it to be for woman who want to be glamorous but with a edge
The main concept behind the clothing line is to have all those ladies who are hard working and badass not be afraid t show it. Pretty rich dolls is just one of the many ways I am for when it comes to my style. I think style should be different and never consistent. When people get stuck onto their style they forget that there is so much in this world besides their point of view. I am  hoping I will change people’s ideas with that. I want to brig a different view to the fashion world. The view would be there is no right or wrong to style. Style I different among all of us. Pretty Rich dolls would be my first clothing line where that would happen. My second would be my girly vintage themed line Florals on my skirt. This would consist of more of feminine feel of fashion. I kind of call it coffee house fashion.  I hope to achieve all of tis in my successful dreams of a boutique and coffee café where people can feel comfortable being chic, feminine, hard edged, and or just whatever style they aim for. Like Walt Disney said dreams do come true.  I shall make mine come true.
